Invasive Species Removal Program
Huron Pines RC&D Council
Huron Pines created an Invasive Species Removal Program to inventory, monitor and remove key nonnative problem species in Northeast Michigan. Early detection and rapid response are two major factors in controlling the spread of invasive species. That is why we have an Invasive Species SWAT Team targeting three species for control in 2010: purple loosestrife (Lythrum salicaria), buckthorn (Rhamnus spp.) and phragmites (Phragmites australis).
